Learning to Love Our Neighbors

"How can we share the love of Christ with Muslims? We can share the good news of the gospel that can only be found in Jesus the Messiah. It is only through Him that Muslims will find the hope and peace that they so desire."

God desires that we love all people, and it is a joy to be able to be a vessel of His love to the nations. Do you love Muslims? This is a question that I have asked myself and others in the past and it is always a great conversation starter to be able to share about the work that the Lord has called us to, but it is also a reminder of what we are all called to do each day, love others as Christ loves them.

We love Muslims and as we have grown our support team, it is our desire that that team loves them also. Sometimes we can be heartbroken for all that is happening around us, specifically in Israel and Palestine right now, that we may be hesitate at answering those questions. But I have been challenged that just like you and me, Muslims are people too, people that God loves and sent His son for.

As we engage in relationship with Muslims around us, we are reminded that some of them have grown up under radical Islamic views trying to fill the earth with Islam and exterminating their enemies. We are commanded to love our neighbor as ourselves. A neighbor is anyone in need and anyone we meet. Just think of all the neighbors that we can love each day. The Lord gives us opportunities to share the love of Christ with each person that we come in contact within a day.

How can we share the love of Christ with Muslims? We can share the good news of the gospel that can only be found in Jesus the Messiah. It is only through Him that Muslims will find the hope and peace that they so desire. So, who is the neighbor that the Lord is putting in your path today to share the good of the gospel with? May we be burdened for our Muslim neighbors near and far, that they might come to know the hope of the true gospel. A great way that we can show love to our Muslim neighbors is by praying for them as they celebrate Ramadan.

Ramadan begins on March 9th and goes through Tuesday April 9th. For 1.9 billion people around the globe, Ramadan is a season for seeking to draw close to God. Ramadan is a great time to pray for Muslims and share the gospel with them, since they’re already thinking about God’s righteous judgment and desiring to draw near to him. It’s a time of families and friends sharing gifts—pray that they may receive the gift of the love and forgiveness of God through Jesus!
