Brazil: Harvest Radio Outreach
While many evangelical believers are concentrated in the large coastal cities of Brazil, vast interior regions—particularly in northeastern Brazil—have few churches and limited gospel witness. Most people in these areas identify as Catholic, but their beliefs are often blended with spiritism, leaving many without a clear understanding of Scripture or a personal relationship with Christ.
For more than 20 years, Harvest Radio has been a trusted and effective ministry tool in Brazil, broadcasting biblical teaching, evangelism, and discipleship programming to listeners across the region. Radio is especially strategic in this context, as research shows Brazilians listen to more than 4 hours of radio each day.
Recently, Harvest Radio acquired a second tower and station, doubling its coverage and creating opportunities to reach new areas with the gospel.
Building on this momentum, this project expands awareness of Harvest Radio, provides local churches entrance into homes to reach the lost, and deepens discipleship through practical, technology-based tools. This outreach is designed to help people not only hear the gospel but also engage in God’s Word consistently and grow in their walk with Him.
The project includes three key components.
• 20,000 flyers will be distributed in four nearby cities to promote the new station. These flyers invite recipients to request a free Bible through WhatsApp, creating a meaningful opportunity for personal contact. Bibles will be delivered directly to homes, opening doors for relationship-building and follow-up by local believers and churches.
• Fixed-tune radios—pre-set to Harvest Radio—will be distributed strategically, ensuring that listeners can easily access biblical programming without technical barriers.
• Specially developed Wi-Fi boom boxes will be produced and placed in areas where the radio signal does not reach, allowing groups and families to listen to Harvest Radio content through internet connectivity.
Through this project, Harvest Radio will strengthen the presence of the gospel in northeastern Brazil, foster ongoing discipleship, and support local churches as they connect personally with individuals responding to God’s Word.
